Sinister Isolation

Canon EOS REBEL XT 1/250 second F/6.3 ISO 400 125 mm

"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting."
~ Andre Kertesz

gerard1948 from Santiago de Compostela, Spain

It seems exhausted and abandoned. A very nice composition and another beautiful black and white. It's great.
Good Sunday.

365 from namur, Belgium

Photo well found and treated well, but ... My honest and spontaneous opinion is that I rather regret that two heads are cut off in the background. Fortunately for them, it is only virtual.

16 Sep 2012 6:23am

@365: i do not agree with your BUT .... isn't it story about this old man ? who cares about heads of unfocused people - family probably- behind him. this is a story of one immigrant, old , maybe sick, maybe dying slowly right here under this tree which he found that smells and feels the same as a tree in front of his house back in country .... please, try to feel my images, do not rush to comment about technical issue which are totally unimportant in my work ... thanks !

Heinz from Hamm, Germany

Die Bildaussage bezieht sich auf den einsamen verlassenen Mann, deswegen ist der Hintergrund garnicht so
relevant. Für mich ist das ein Aussagekräftiges Foto.

Powerful in b&w, but I do think if the perspective had been a slightly different angle, with only the man and the tree and the bicycles (without the people in the background), it may have been even moreso.
