Miserable Moment

Canon EOS REBEL XT 1/160 second F/5.6 ISO 400 80 mm

"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting."
~ Andre Kertesz

I would want to ask if she was okay. Wonderful colour tone

27 Jan 2012 1:56pm

@Christine: I was also wondering who are all these young Muslim girls in Sarajevo, sitting on the streets and begging for money. They do not look like homeless, they are dressed ok.

Ask more questions than it answers. Good gesture. best…jf

27 Jan 2012 2:05pm

@ordinaryimages: to be honest I was not interested in these young girls-beggars ! I saw so much more painful scene where my heart broke !

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

The woman passing by looks at her. She might even be taking off her gloves to give the woman begging. I am surprised to see her carrying her purse while begging. Another of your remarkable street shots, Mariana.

27 Jan 2012 3:21pm

Joke from Leuven, Belgium

Very nice, but is it true? We have a lot of woman who are obligated to begging by their husband. They came from Eastern Europe but they drive all in a mercedes.

27 Jan 2012 3:33pm

@Joke: i am sure this woman does not drive a Mercedes, but i am sure she gets 300Euros each month for going to mosque and covering her head ! politics was always strange to me .
