Should I boast again ? No! This time I feel so shy to say anything but wish you to read this article - NOT A POST ABOUT ME by photographer and writer Jim Hockings! Thanks for reading it ! Thank you Jim for this enormous support and new inspiration in my work!

AM3 is painfully slow today, and not good for my bad patience. It is killing me since yesterday! See you some other time ;)

"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting."

Mirianna, I tried to post the following at the article you linked to, but the page kept swalloing my comment and not displaying it. Quote:
This is a perceptive and insightful analysis of Marianna's work. I have been following her site for quite a while - she is on my daily RSS feed. My only issue with the analysis is that it makes light of Marianna's skill with Photoshop. It is true that her images are REAL, but her skill at Photoshop goes beyond "just tweak(ing)" the images; she brings out tones and contrasts that bring out beyond life-like realism, perhaps a contradictory phrase, but one that fits.

I agree with the comparison to Robert Frank, Dorothea Lang, Walker Evans, and Diane Arbus, and sadly also to the comments about the marketability of her work. While a coffee-table book might sell, few would want her prints on their wall, and today if it doesn't sell it doesn't hang on gallery walls. But I am enriched by the faces that she displays, and hope that she continues to produce.

29 Sep 2011 12:30pm

@Harry: So nice and friendly of you Harry ! Thx !
