Taken from a car in a last instant! bad picture quality, I know, but I love it anyway! a scene we do not see everyday. right?

"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting."
~ Andre Kertesz

Rick from Toronto, Canada

Wow... it actually looks like he is grieving for this toilet! What a find. What a quick capture to preserve something we definitely don't see everyday, or ANY day! :)

Better than dying on one of these.
Could he be actually looking for spare parts kneeling like that, or was he depositing the item in the one before last spot to have a spat at.

G'd day to you lady Mariana.

27 Sep 2011 7:41am

@Stéphane Thémèze: he looked to me as crying and giving a last hug to his daily friend ;) it is not easy to say good-bye ;)

Denny Jump Photo from Easton, PA, United States

Oh my heavens..I read some of your responses to others which I do not always do (so as not to prejudice my comments)...but you mentioned that he was actually looking sad to you, as well.... and that sure is what I can see here too as I am looking at him...oh my heavens ;-) Well I still cannot help but chuckle a bit, but this is a great scene and I really love your title! And for this poor fellow, it appears that evrything has gone to pot!! I do love this one Mariana....I hope you are doing well...it is always great to see your words and your work ;-)

27 Sep 2011 1:48pm

@Denny Jump Photo: ha ha .. oh, my heavens ;) you make me laugh, Denny :) See, before this shot, I never thought how much is human connected to toilet ... We work for money, we buy food, we need this toilet every day, not even once but who knows how many times ... you know, this image makes me think of period when did not have water in a war period, and it was impossible to go to the toilet ... then, one can see how much we need to love and appreciate the toilet ... also, as an immigrant in Serbia, once I needed to move to my grandma's house on village, it was terrible problem to be without toilet , I mean a real one . Corn field was my toilet for 2 years ... was not cool to go there in winter and on heavy rain ... yes, we do not think of toilet the way it deserves ;)))) now, do not tell me I am a nutz :)))

Ol from Aschaffenburg, Germany

Thank you Mariana - your story brings a perspective that we, who have been so fortunate (and very spoiled) do forget, until the reality of things is reminded to us...thank you very this lesson....and I appreciate it sorry if I offended too by the way.

27 Sep 2011 2:38pm

@Denny Jump Photo: no no no .. I know you do not have any intention to offend me ;) I only wanted to share this story , my personal experience with Toilet, in order for everyone who looks at this image to better understand old man's connection with his toilet ;)
