"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting."
~ Andre Kertesz

15 Sep 2011 12:59pm

franz from Baden, Austria

ah, the mennonites again! you must have caught them in a moment of distress or some other negative emotion, as they do not look happy or relaxed at all. (but perhaps that's only in my head ... ;-))

15 Sep 2011 1:01pm

@franz: not only in your head, Franz . You are right . Strange that nobody mentioned/ saw this cross behind them ...

Yes I love the tone here, too, Mariana. It just perfectly seems to fit the appearance of the people in this scene. The little girl really has a determined look ;-) The lady (mom?) looks very busy ;-) I saw your note about the hot dog...Before I saw it, I was thinking the same thing as Chris..."He's Watching them"....This image, as all of yours, just brings out all kinds of wonderment and imagination wanderings in my mind...Superb Mariana!!

15 Sep 2011 4:45pm

Monik from PARIS, France

The little girl seems to have a grip strong enough that she won't ever let go. Your processing in sepia not only brings out nice contrasts but seems fitting for Amish settings, which always seem to "take me back."
