"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting."

Gas prices are criminal, but this portrait is amazing because once again you have found and shared a memorable person. He looks thin and hungry to me. I hope he isn't living too hard a life. Thanks for sharing your intuitive talents, Mariana.

27 May 2011 2:01pm

@Rick: actually I was not focused here on a portrait itself, but his expression, rather surprised one , and wanted to connect it with gas price... maybe my face expression was the same as his ... 129. 9 is too much ... this morning over 130 for sure :) thanks Rick !

Ralph Jones from Detroit, United States

Nice capture, I have been doing quite a bit of cycling of late and would be doing more it the weather was dry.

27 May 2011 2:04pm

Ha... looking at it after your reply, it is a good connection between his expression and that disgusting price! My youngest brother managed a gas station in B.C. for a few years, and he said it is a total game. Like we all have bottomless wallets.

I suppose photos are very subjective, but what I see is a man who has led a rough life. I would think gas prices were somewhat low on his list of worries, but I don't really know.
