"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting."
~ Andre Kertesz

Marco Carnbocci from Paris, France

A very suggestive portrait, Mariana. The texture of skin is magnificently worked. But, beyond these considerations, here is the smiling type of person with whom we would like to exchange words. And your image is already a wonderful exchange.

1 May 2011 10:59am

@Marco Carnbocci: that is True Marco . She is very dear woman, and each time I see her in downtown We chat for a while ;) Thanks a lot for writing in English. I appreciate it very much !

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

I believe my comments may stick out like a sore thumb today Mariana.
I just feel you may have got a little carried away with the brushes on this rather compelling portrait. The dodging around the eyes and the sides of the nose is too pronounced for my liking.
Perhaps just too enthusiastic?

1 May 2011 1:34pm

@Curly: Dear Curly, when I see any good portrait on your page, a portrait better than any mine, I would accept this comment . Otherwise, I only ignore comments like this one from you or anybody else who never ever showed a decent portrait ! Thanks for looking ! To be more precised I went to your portfolio and found a first portrait there - Beach Babe and then the following one - Blonde ambition ** Do not you really think that you with portraits like these two can be competent to discuss my portraits ???? Sorry, but this is true !

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

Friends can appreciate each other's honesty and portraiture is definitely not my strongest point, I agree. However your picture was still strong enough to invite my viewing and elicit my opinion, which I would hope might be received in good faith. I am a little taken aback by the harshness of your response but it will not curtail me from continuing to visit here and appreciate your pictures.

1 May 2011 1:46pm

@Curly: Thanks . Next time be careful please if /while leaving comments on my page . As I said before I do not appreciate comments from people who are commenting here only waiting from me to leave a comment back on their page or from people who are not able to get even close portrait or any other kind of photo similar to mine but brave to criticize my pictures !

Stefan from Thiersee, Austria

1 May 2011 2:16pm

Sandra from London, United Kingdom

I love this too but I think your reaction to Curly was curt, ungracious, and somewhat horrendous, just the way to put people off forever. Think about it.

1 May 2011 2:24pm

@Sandra: Ah, another ANONYMOUS comment I am really sick of ! Put your link here , dear, then we can talk . Without link, get lost from my page !!!

3 May 2011 6:16pm

CElliottUK from Reading, United Kingdom

What are you on about? I leave a wholly positive comment, and I get a flame! WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?

3 May 2011 9:10pm

@CElliottUK: i have no problems, other than ugly gossiping on Curly's page . You said I was blind not seeing a great curly's portraits . Well, you know what I am talking about ....

CElliottUK from Reading, United Kingdom

I didn't know that you were the person that dissed Curly's images. My comment on blind or mad wasn't aimed at you(Because I didn't know it was you). Your reaction has diminished you in my eyes.

3 May 2011 9:30pm

@CElliottUK: you knew very well, and only because I told you a few days ago that something I would do differently on your picture, you got upset , the same as Curly when told him that his portrait cannot be even close to my portraits , after he left this silly comment on this image of Ann, which you said - ONLY YOU can do it :)) Think about all what was said here ... do not jump into any conclusion !!!!! Why everyone who is getting comments from Curly thinks I am an idiot ? Why all those do not come and read Curly's comment and then understand why I got pissed off with this comment . and he does not stop . he continues talking of my portrait further : I guess you followed the link Tomix, I was only trying to point out that the dodging of the eye sockets had extended way beyond the boundaries of the spectacles, and that the dodging of the mouth and nose stood out like a sore thumb. It ended up looking like someone had just came out of a coal mine and wiped their eyes! To be honest I thought that this was a far more accomplished Dragan effect without it going over the top, but she didn't want to dig that far.

domlortha from Roanne, France

How do you do to shot such strong portraits!!! Amazing process!
Have a nice day.
