"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting."
~ Andre Kertesz

12 Apr 2011 9:27am

Damian B from Manchester, United Kingdom

Amazing work again Mariana, I love the crisp focus of the bground rendering the foreground dude out of focus but still its a pretty haunting image and gives the impression that the bloke is very troubled somewhat, adds to the mystery of the shot - there is no way you could bracket it down to an explanation!!

12 Apr 2011 9:42am

@Damian B: Thanks Damian . I liked to change focus this time, opposite of this portrait of the same guy !

Rick from Toronto, Canada

Raw power in this portrait, and I love the presentation. The roughness of his fingers and skin is even more evident because I linger for a long time, looking at this... I wheeled my chair back about six feet and that gives this an amazing feel, too. Paintography!

12 Apr 2011 1:26pm

@Rick: Super :) Just be careful with your chair ;) ha ha
