memories... stronger than ever...

"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting."
~ Andre Kertesz

NaDu from Köln, Germany

Indeed we get older and memories become stronger than ever ;). Spontaneously I'm thrilled by the clothesline. The right child looks wary like a cat, the middle one is self contained. the woman face on the left, ah. All are connected by the time line, by the clothesline. Are you the same person that you were as child?

6 Jan 2011 7:21am

@NaDu: sarajevo 1992 - 1996 ! these memories

Richard T from Leicester, United Kingdom

Hmmm... dark thoughts. Flash backs it seems ... but with positive feelings threading through them I hope.

6 Jan 2011 4:43pm

@Richard T: not really Richard . In 10 days I go back HOME, after 15 years not being there. Escaped from civil war, came to Canada and many problems I have to forget all those memories. Now, when I think I am ready to go there and see ALL there, I am again so frightened, so excited, so tired, so ...I even do not know how to explain this mixture of feeling I have been having these days ...

Adrian from Wakefield, United Kingdom

a marvellous piece of photographic art, love the choice of deep sepia perfectly conveys the passage/erosion of time. your use of multiple images (ones you’ve taken ? or family treasures?) and their seamless montage is very very fine work. 5*****

6 Jan 2011 10:18pm

brine from valence, France

A photo so dramatic, with this face of eternal woman, madone of our churches, or antique goddess. She stays up this child, lost in a world in chaos, either it is her who personifies the human madness, the war, the genocides, the guettos camps where youngs lose their childhood there... I am moved by the correctness of this image, where everything, composition, monochrome tone and light speaks about misfortune... Bravo, it deserves amply 5 *

Magda from Vancouver, Canada

Very sad memories... I remember very well those times. I was just getting ready to leave Poland to start my new life in Canada when the news broke about Sarajevo. I see that you are going there after 15 years! I can't wait to see some of the images you bring from there but the most anticipated will be your feelings, your memories and thoughts that this trip brings. Wishing you a wonderful trip. I can feel your anticipation but I'm sure this trip will be a big step for you and I hope it brings some peace to you. But, seeing your family and friends will be the most important. My family is back in Poland and I understand how hard it is to be so far away from everyone. :( I miss them soooo much!
