"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting."

There is nothing wrong in this photo, Mariana. In fact, I like the head held high face, a sign of power and experiences of life. And I also like the detailed portrait. I am sorry I hadn't reached to this photo yet. Was thinking of the doing it few hours later but now I think it was absolutely necessary I tell how much I adore and appreciate this photograph. :-)

10 Aug 2010 10:27am

10 Aug 2010 12:34pm

Earl from Salisbury, NC, United States

This portrait certainly brings with it a story. It makes you wonder who she is and what her life was/is about. I also can't help but notice the soft focused face of the bearded gentleman in the upper left corner. Another story waiting to be told. You have a real talent at catching these moments.

10 Aug 2010 12:36pm

@Earl: Thanks Earl . Her daughter was with her, she smiled at me, and when I came closer, I told her - wow, she is a Queen . Daughter said - how do you know, she is a real queen :) And this man behind, passing by, is really another story . When saw hm, I stopped taking pictures of my Queen, and run after this man. He was kind of King for my night of the blues Festival ;))
