sweet curiosity

Canon PowerShot SX100 IS 1/250 second F/4.0 ISO 80 23 mm

"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting."
~ Andre Kertesz

QB from Canada

What could they be looking at? I am utterly fascinated. I must know! Such great expressions... and they both have the same expression, (though one twists the mouth to the left and the other to the right, it's the same).

A typical curious photographer! You also curious about the scene! The two women is very clear its attitude as you say it! a sweet curiosity! The right side of the composition. It gives us some difficult elements placed in our minds! Arm, leg, hair ... and some things! The interesting thing is that it calls attention as soon as he did with the two ladies. Excellent shot! Best regards, Adela

Is that someone's hair flowing all the way to the ground on the right?! If so, i would have the same expression as these two ladies here. :) I love when people don't even try to hide their reactions or attitude--keeping it real.

I love that look you have captured - yes - one wonders exactly whether the looks are of concern (which is my guess after studying this a bit) or could it be annoyance?? Hard to say...your work is so fantastic Mariana - it really is...look at all the varied reactions you get - and deservedly so - This is great...DJ

3 Aug 2010 5:59pm

Beautiful depth and fabulous interest in this study, Mariana - but you have really got me distracted by what looks to be a whole length of strawberry-blond hair running the entire right side of the frame.

@B◊nΛng∠e: a horse, and his tail :)

Thami from Morocco

Toute le tension des regards et des expressions est tirée vers ce qui se passe dans le hors champ à droite...On dirait la longue queue d'un cheval à moins qu'il ne s'agisse de la longue chevelure d'une blonde ?
Bonne fin de journée!

3 Aug 2010 9:20pm

3 Aug 2010 10:18pm

Zoltan from Toronto, Canada

Life in the Loo seems as colourful and character-driven as usual. Need to visit one day (only been in Ontario 3 years--much to explore still.)

3 Aug 2010 10:31pm

@Zoltan: Come on ! You in Toronto have an everyday show, everywhere on the streets . You do not need to come to Waterloo. Or if you want to come to Waterloo you need to be Mariana to take pictures like mine. That would be a waste of your time and money . Besides, you do not need to wait for the carnivals like you show in your last few pictures... find that everyday carnival yourself.

Interesting that their curiosity evokes mine. Looks like they are tourists?

9 Aug 2010 8:43pm

@Peter: so, you waited for my comment to come on my page, and then, you do not want to say anything for the last picture, but you go backward .... that is funny, sorry !

Peter from Amsterdam, Netherlands

I visit your page more often than you know. I like comments and particulary yours, but I am in a kind of photo block (not blog ;-)). so still look at your pics and dream away and forget the comment, or can only repeat what others already comment.

24 Aug 2010 2:39pm

@Monte Stevens: I read your comment and now hardly found it to reply . Why you go so much backward ? I always think you do not like my pictures and you almost never comment , but I see you are commenting some other people's pictures. Now, I feel fine when you are saying this ... ha ha .. I am like a little girl, happy, when somebody tell me like that , although I know my pictures are cool :)) Maybe soon I get a chance to show them in some gallery in Toronto :)) Will see . Need a good network ;)
