"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting."
~ Andre Kertesz

Bettina from Los Angeles, United States

How wonderful. I love the pristine processing in black and white, the wonderful light and shadow over the street and the single figure running. The cross shadow over the wall behind him is a cool side effect.

I'm always a bit late to answer. You're right when you notice that I don't answer in due time. The fact is that I'm too a father, and since one year, I'm very busy with my elder son. It takes most of my spare time and most of my attention. Sorry not to be fluent in english, the fact is that it's quite difficult to follow my thought in this language. My father is dying in an hospital, each time that I meet him, he's in a worse shape.
I'll try to be more attentive.

13 Jun 2010 5:51pm

@Thierry Masson: thx Thierry for sharing this story . I see , there is no much time left for pictures at your side . Take it easy ! All the best !

Amanda from Jersey City, United States

What a great quote...full of truth. It's hard to leave loved ones behind and it's just as hard for them when you leave. This image matches the quote perfectly as it is just about this one person moving on...nothing else matters.
