"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting."
~ Andre Kertesz

Mark Johnson from Rural Colorado, United States

1 Apr 2010 6:06am

NaDu from Köln, Germany

She has to do a bad job, she looks so peevish. No question, doing portraits is your domain and I wouldn't be surprised to meet a photo book from you some day. If you have time to answer my question: what is your distance to the persons you make portraits of? Some exif data would be very informative.

1 Apr 2010 6:15am

@NaDu: Thanks NaDu a lot . A book ? Who knows, maybe one day ! As for distance - I think I was 10 m far from her . I closed this info about my camera and exif data, since I disliked all those questions and remarks about my rather cheap, small, but dear camera :) Hope you understand what I mean !

Don't know what it's in her focused mind, but seems intense as is the chill over her cheeks & hands, pink with the deep cold. A 'cool' (very ;) compo & play of colors within the frame.

@k@: thx Karine, I appreciate very much ur comment when you're away from Am3 :) see ya tomorrow !

Henk van Rijssen from Utrecht, Netherlands

Nice photo. At first impresion I also had the impressian that this was a Russian or eastern European girl or thatyou went back in time. I've seen quite a lot photo's from youat or around the farmers market that have that expression of "older times"
Nevertheless great work and nice captures.

1 Apr 2010 9:43pm

1 Apr 2010 11:20pm

Martin from North Platte, United States

Really a nice shot Mariana, so much going on here, that expression beggs alot of questions, is it because of the cold? is it because of the weight of what (She's) carrying? is it from the simple fact that she has to do this at all? so many questions but more importantly, you have a sucsessful Photograph, ( as you usually do :) getting a person to study this photo and asking these questions, Your my Hero :)

2 Apr 2010 12:30am

@Martin: thx..thx..thx Martin :))
