Mariana Maoduš (Waterloo, Canada) on 24 February 2010 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

It really makes no sense to wear a long skirt on slippery sidewalks....but I have to admit I am very bad and love seeing scenes like this, always laughing.

"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting."

Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, Spain

A little bad, yes! :)) But you catched a good moment.
We don't have any snow here and I remember some slips when in Canada or USA. Mmm!

24 Feb 2010 3:44pm

@KriKridesign: ha ha ... you are bad too, the same as me :)) I was following them and had another composition on my mind : their clear footprints with the bottom of their bodies . I liked her colorful skirt . And then, she screamed, fell down , and I simply clicked fast , without expectation to get this cool angle and compo . NO, they did not see me .. but I was afraid to shot again when she was down , so I continue walking ... Thx Kri ;)

What great response time to actually capture this! It would have taken me about 7-8 seconds to respond to this and the woman would have already been back up on her feet walking. :-) Interesting angle and I love the capture of the falling snow as it contrasts against the concrete wall in the background.

Well I have always had a hard time fighting instant laughter when I see people fall. My grandmother then taught me to wait until I know they're not hurt before I burst into laughter. Of course, this was after I watched her fall on some ice one morning and couldn't stop laughing. ;-) Luckily she wasn't hurt, and was able to laugh with me after her embarrassment faded!

25 Feb 2010 6:28pm

`Paul from Minneapolis, United States

I am not sure I would have snapped a picture but I know I would have laughed a little at this unwanted clumsiness and clownesque move.

Cheers Mariana.
