"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting."
~ Andre Kertesz

Dulcie from Danville, CA, United States

You've created a scene that immediately presents us with a 'story.'

How will she deal in a 'world of wolves." What mystery !!! :-)

26 Jan 2010 7:58am

@Dulcie: escape is the only solution ;))

Nadu-Dosenöffner from Köln, Germany

The girl: alone, but not despaired, more moving and researching. The line perspective is small (as the girl is) but it is. A very significant image.

SOUL AFLAME from The bosom of Mother Nature, United Kingdom

Even now, at my age, Mariana, I sometimes feel like this when in a crowded place. Vulnerable, claustraphobic, I just want to make my escape and be free from all of the strangers..... Sometimes the world can appear too frenetic, too overwhelming and I need to be by myself again, with Mother nature alone.

As a child, I disliked crowds, and held on to my mums hand for dear life. I guess a little part of my childhood has never left me.

She's on foot in the world of strollers! The way she's looking makes one think she's apprehensive. It's a big world for someone who was in a stroller not that long ago. Cool shot.

27 Jan 2010 1:33am

Bill Laing from Pacific Northwest, United States

Do you happen to know this little girl? Children are such great subjects. I think women photographers have an advantage over their male counterparts when it comes to photographing children who are strangers to them. I may be over-reacting, but I think parents become suspicious of the intentions of men who try to photograph their children. Not so much with women. It's a sad commentary on the times we live in that parents have to be so protective.

27 Jan 2010 2:29am

@Bill Laing: NO, I do not know her ! I told her mom she is adorable and asked her if she mind if I take a few shots of her from distance ! Of course, young woman did not mind and thanked me for a lovely compliment to her daughter !

bekkah from Pennsylvania, United States

I love the blur...although it gives it a bit of a lost-in-the-crowd/frenzied feel, having a little one of my own this makes me NERVOUS!! ;)

Meysam from Montreal, Canada

Too negative a view point!

27 Jan 2010 3:53pm

@Meysam: I do not get your comment . would you please explain

Pomme from France

Elle semble un peu perdue au milieu de ces gens :)

27 Jan 2010 5:52pm

@Pomme: among wolfs every child is LOST :))

Meysam from Montreal, Canada

I meant, I don't like to think of world as a place full of wolves, and also in your shot, with the strollers and the other kids around, I find it really safe. To me, the shot mostly conveys the way a kid explores the world. The excitement, the eagerness, and adventure, not danger, or unsafety, or ...

27 Jan 2010 11:52pm

Mike from United States

Very nice. Great soft movement.

31 Jan 2010 7:14pm
