Thank You All :))

Posted by
Mariana Maoduš (Waterloo, Canada) on 1 September 2009 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

Thank you - Dido

I'd like to thank everyone for visiting and commenting on my pictures. And please, excuse me for not saying thank you every time . My 'thank you' is my visit of your photos and commenting on them, when I like them, and I usually like them :)) We are all doing great, aren't we ? And we all learn from each other a lot. Please , never hesitate to leave a constructive critique, if you think something should be different or not good. Tell me right now that this self-portrait is overexposed , that a nose is missing here :))) See ya !!

"The moment always dictates in my work. What I feel, I do. This is the most important thing for me. Everybody can look, but they don't necessarily see. I never calculate or consider; I see a situation and I know that it's right, even if I have to go back to get the proper lighting."
~ Andre Kertesz

Ben from Lyon, France

Mathilde Collot from Dans l, France

1 Sep 2009 7:17am

@Mathilde Collot: It's never problem to write in French or any other language . We all know to translate it :)) Thanks !!

High contrast rather than over exposure I would say. Draws attention to those eyes though that have fixed me in their sights. I'm like a quivering rabbit in a car's headlights ;)

1 Sep 2009 1:53pm

Don from spokane, United States

It's a pleasure to meet the person who takes all those beautiful pictures. I too prefer to visit and make comments on blogs rather than write thank you notes. Your noseless overexposed self portrait is most eye catching and does show your friendly charm!

akarui from Kagoshima, Japan

Hi Mariana, nice to see you. Beeing a BW picture (or sepia) the white parts are not really overexposed, if the background was not black it would be a highkey picture. Beautiful eyes!!

1 Sep 2009 11:23pm

Steven from Chicagoland, United States

You had to mention that a nose is missing!! Something that I never noticed. I just saw the lush eyelashes that surround the sparkling eyes.

2 Sep 2009 1:04am

@Steven: that is so lovely compliment Steven :)) Thanks . As for eyelashes - that is my always heavy make-up and good mascara :))

Earnest from Oklahoma, United States

I would have had no constructive critique of this photo as it appears to be what the artist was pursuing.. :) Very effective and a much appreciated statement.

2 Sep 2009 1:20am

Ginnie from Atlanta, Georgia, United States

The eyes...and that hair! Who would even think about the nose??!!

Manola from Bassens, France

bye bye Marianna!!! ;)

2 Sep 2009 4:45am

@Manola: thanks .. thanks n... thanks .. :))
