Lylou & Roland from FranceHummm - She seems to be very angry... Do you know what about ? 2 Jul 2009 5:11am Paco Díaz from Palma de Mallorca, SpainWhat an expression! She looks so angry that results funny :) 2 Jul 2009 5:22am masoud from tehran, Irannice sepia portrait , color ton support to transmission of sense 2 Jul 2009 7:07am k@ from Paris, FranceI don't read her like funny as Paco says, I see great inner suffering - is she a homeless ? Or someone on strike and yelling ? Or someone kidding (i don't feel she's kidding her face talks of harsh life by herself)... I feel quite ill at ease with her expression but in the good sense : emotions run in your original close-up... 2 Jul 2009 7:24am @k@: Thanks K. NO, she is not kidding. I met her on a rainy day in a park with her dog. At first she was afraid of me, but soon she told me her life story. From first sight I knew she has some problem. Deep depression, suffering, mental disability, living alone. Standley from Carquefou, FranceWhat a portrait! She seems being claiming something. 2 Jul 2009 7:36am LM from Aix en Provence, FranceSuperb You catch the essential and your treament make this shot fantastic. Your pp just powerfully reinforced her mood. 2 Jul 2009 10:11am Hiro from Kyoto, JapanIf I had been there, I could not have taken this photo. I think a kind of courage was necessary to do it. 2 Jul 2009 11:37am @Hiro: NO Hiro, just love and feelings for people, with lots of understanding for their problems is needed to come closer to anyone ! Thanks . Eric Cousineau from Sherwood Park, CanadaA wonderful sepia portrait! Who knows what inner demons are plagueing her? Definitely not a peace with herself or the world...Nice seen and captured Mariana! ;-) 2 Jul 2009 12:24pm Anna.C from LA ROCHELLE, Francestrong and terrific expression captured ! excellent portrait Mariana ! 2 Jul 2009 1:05pm jeff (aka dogilicious) from Millerstown, PA, United StatesWhat'd you do to piss her off! Well, to me - meeting this woman and talking to her for an hour or even longer is just another fantastic experience ! Hey, life could be so cruel . ZoomLNZ from Los Angeles Area, United StatesFaces often tell stories. I wonder what her story is. Did you speak with her? Your photo and treatment of this image is excellent. 2 Jul 2009 3:01pm don from spokane, United StatesWhat a strong portrait of intense emotions...perhaps just the surface deeper, unexpressed concerns. I'm glad you got to talk with her at length. This is the strongest image I've seen today! 2 Jul 2009 3:16pm @don: Thanks Don ! I was glad too to talk to her. At this stage many people needs a good listener . And I think I am :) Mathilde Collot from Fontainebleau, FranceI feel a tremendous anger in the expression of the mouth and yet deep in the light that softens the face. Superb portrait! 2 Jul 2009 4:16pm flyingwind风飞扬 from Taiyuan, ChinaWhat a portrait! Everything in her mind and heart has been revealed! 2 Jul 2009 4:35pm hugo poon from hong kong, Hong KongI'm stunned!!! This is an incredible portraiture... your approach is unbelievably direct, emotional, unreserved and without any attempt at concealment... or in one word: truthful! You could never be just a dispassionate spectator, could you? Just love your work Mariana! 2 Jul 2009 4:46pm @hugo poon: Many thanks Hugo :)) I am really glad you enjoyed this portrait . If only you were behind me and this lady to take another shot for your 'acquaintances' series , it would be super :)) That is why I love your last two shots, for feeling them so naturally and warm :)) Mike from United StatesUhhh... this is fantastic! The photo and expression are really great but the processing really makes the photo wonderful. This is right on top of my Mariana favorites list!!! 2 Jul 2009 6:27pm @Mike: Thanks Mike :) This is super comment I got from you . I agree with you ..ha ha ha ..How modest I am , ha ? marc battault from clermont ferrand, Franceterrifiant !!!!!..............mais que c'est beau !!! 2 Jul 2009 6:35pm Calusarus from St Sorlin en Valloire, FranceWhat an impressive (and expressive) portrait 2 Jul 2009 8:20pm john4jack from Corvallis, Oregon, United StatesWhoa! Somebody's not happy! Great tones. 2 Jul 2009 8:44pm Steve Rice from Olympia, United StatesSuch raw emotions on display here at the very least. This is a wonderful, if a bit unsettling, portrait. You seem to have a way to get people to reveal their inner selves to you. I think this is a rare gift. 2 Jul 2009 9:33pm LauraS from United StatesYou are a good listener! Your photo demonstrates that talent you have. Wonderful share with us. 2 Jul 2009 10:22pm motie from Franceimpressive expression!! i would not like to be his husband!!! 2 Jul 2009 10:24pm rian from mobile, United Statesyikes! i hope that anger wasn't directed at you.. great shot though! :D 2 Jul 2009 11:34pm Steven from Chicagoland, United StatesA wonderful capture of emotion here. Very good composition. Good that you were able to talk to her too. 3 Jul 2009 10:05am Amalio Villa from Tucumán, Argentinawow! 3 Jul 2009 12:47pm Craig@Random Ramblings from Herts, United KingdomI think this is exceptionally well done, you've captured all of those emotions in this one frame. Reallly really super work! 3 Jul 2009 2:03pm Ti from Alpharetta, United StatesAt first I thought she was a wax figure, maybe because life carved into her face making it so stiff. Then I realize she's real after reading comments and your responces. I must say you are a brave woman to confront an unordinary woman like her, but on the other hand it takes a warm loving person like youself to put fear behind when it comes to caring for another human being. I don't know what you do for a living, Mariana, but you'll make a wonderful nurse or a social worker! :-) 4 Jul 2009 4:06am @Ti: Hey ! How are you ? I am glad you paid an attention to this portrait. NO, I am not a nurse, I am not a social worker. I am a software developer :))) Many years I worked as a high school teacher of mathematics, maybe then I developed love for people and got patience to listen to them and understand . I do not know . I only know all my friends call me every time they get into some trouble . @micke bergling: many thanks :) Ti from Alpharetta, United StatesSoftware developer? I'd never had guessed that in a million year! You must be a very logical person since software language is all about logic...No wonder people come to you for consultations, when nothing makes sense to them they'd have to find someone like you to disect and organize them again. :-) 6 Jul 2009 12:37am luwi from Innsbruck, Austriagreat portrait! in my homnedown I know a person who look like this person, she have the same cracy eyes 15 Aug 2009 8:09pm @luwi: take a shot of her, if you dare :))) I was very careful with this woman . @Sophie: Thx Sophie, and please do not get my first reply wrong . I hope you understood what I menat about these yikes / cute, sweet, ugly face comments :)) Regards . M. @Arconte: thx . |
