It reminds me of those paper used for sliding doors when growing up in the '50s...
Taiwan was ruled by the Japanese for 50 years and older generation Taiwanese were educated under Japanese system and speak and write Japanese. Many residential housings built during that period were Japanese style with those paper sliding doors, like the ones we had in our house by then...
Maybe you can pattern and design fabrics with this? :-)
