I couldn't tell at first if it was a painting or a photo! The detail is amazing. I like the juxtaposition of the "fantasy" Indian (soft, beautiful, traditional) with the reality of everyday native life -- the face that looks like it's been through so much, with the modern sunglasses. Well done. 23 Nov 2009 1:58pm Arconte from Madrid, SpainFantastic!! 23 Nov 2009 2:05pm Bigezbear from New Orleans, United StatesThis is incredible. As someone who is not able to photograph people comfortably, I am so impressed with your portraits. The tonal qualities alone that you are able to achieve are masterly, yet the person shines through vividly. There are thoughts and emotions enlivening (and darkening) this face that I could never experience. This is a "photograph". 23 Nov 2009 2:38pm shoti from Everywhere in the, Philippinesfantastic processing! fantastic work! great job you did here Mariana! but I'm a bit confused with the title. is he a Native American or Native Indian or American Indian? an Indian person is someone from the east, not the ones from America which Christopher Columbus mistakenly identified. :) 23 Nov 2009 3:13pm @shoti: thx Shot i . I really did not mind how to title this picture , and this title is exactly from Google when you search for 'native American ' . they say - Native American Indian .... Oscar from espira, Franceun partrit tres reussi. Au debut j'ai opense que est une pinture, masi non es une persone... Marvelous dark, somber tones. 23 Nov 2009 4:04pm Don from spokane, United StatesI like this novel presentation of a portrait. The image is very strong. The deep tones and your processing fit the subject with so well. The "set" of his mouth says so much. A fine image. 23 Nov 2009 4:13pm Lougris from Toulouse, Francehonor and respect for this people !!! 23 Nov 2009 4:42pm thami from MoroccoSeule les lunettes font fausse note ! 23 Nov 2009 5:07pm Gérard Méry from Tours, FranceBeau et surprenant à la fois ce portrait, tout droit sorti de " Germinal " 23 Nov 2009 5:23pm tce76 from St Laurent de Brèvedent, FranceImpressionnant ce portrait. Un certain anachronisme, par ailleurs totalement géré. 23 Nov 2009 5:26pm Dawn from Maryland, United StatesOh, this is just wonderful. You becoming quite an expert at this processing. I wish I could figure it out!!! ; ) 23 Nov 2009 5:32pm jeanclaude from st mande 94160, Francesorry my mail box is little crazy 23 Nov 2009 5:39pm @jeanclaude: you do not have to come here to thank me for my comment on your shot . don't you think that this or any other picture from my portfolio is worth of you attention ? that is so selfish .. . people like you are very funny to me . pascal from bollene, Brazilso........beautiful.........Can say another word...... 23 Nov 2009 6:05pm Jean-Louis from Nîmes, FranceWaouuuuuu......!!
