Gorgeous. I couldn't tell at first if it was a painting or a photo! The detail is amazing. I like the juxtaposition of the "fantasy" Indian (soft, beautiful, traditional) with the reality of everyday native life -- the face that looks like it's been through so much, with the modern sunglasses. Well done.

This is incredible. As someone who is not able to photograph people comfortably, I am so impressed with your portraits. The tonal qualities alone that you are able to achieve are masterly, yet the person shines through vividly. There are thoughts and emotions enlivening (and darkening) this face that I could never experience. This is a "photograph".

but I'm a bit confused with the title. is he a Native American or Native Indian or American Indian? an Indian person is someone from the east, not the ones from America which Christopher Columbus mistakenly identified. :)
